THE IRISH (2) has been competitive in town this prep, the latest effort a closing fourth over a similar trip to this at Eagle Farm. Stepped up sharply in distance that day so it will do him the world of good. Back in class and ready to win. GIDDY GAN'S JOY (4) finished with great purpose but just ran out of time in a BM58 here at this trip two back. Outclassed at Doomben last time but back in this company she poses a serious threat. WAITAPU (3) appreciated the drop in grade when a comfortable winner over 1 5/16m at Tamworth recently. Has been competitive at this level before, just needs to get this longer trip which is the slight query. MORE SAINTLY (5) was there to strike on the bend but only battled on fairly for fourth last start over 1 ?m at Ballina. Drops 4.5kgs and this slightly shorter trip is a tick. CAMELOT STAR (8) relished the slog of a 1 ?m race at Ballina last time. Will be thereabouts again.
