College Football Win Total Betting: Can Florida State Reach Double-Digits Wins?
With action on the diamond and hardwood taking over the airwaves, college football will be (temporarily) put on the back burner. However, for those gridiron fans who want to get ahead of the game, FanDuel Sportsbook has gone live with 2024 college football win totals!
Arguably, the Florida State Seminoles will return this season as the most-scorned team of all time. Notably, FSU won 13 consecutive games last year before narrowly missing out on the 2024 College Football Playoff.
After a dismal showing in the most recent Orange Bowl, the 'Noles are looking to set the record straight. Florida State head coach Mike Norvell will be back for his fifth campaign in Tallahassee; expect motivation and energy to be all the way up.
Pertaining to the upcoming season, there will be a new quarterback in Florida's capital city. Standing at 6-foot-5, dual-threat D.J. Uiagalelei will join FSU after a strong year with the Oregon State Beavers.
Let's dive into Florida State's upcoming regular-season win total odds at FanDuel Sportsbook and take a look at both perspectives -- the over and the under. As you'd imagine

Florida State Football Win Total Odds
Florida State Football Over/Under 9.5 Wins
- Over: -110
- Under: -110
Florida State 2024 Football Schedule
Why Florida State Could Win Over 9.5 Games (-110)
Admittedly, surpassing 9.5 wins will be no small task for Florida State. Still, the Seminoles should return to a reshaped Atlantic Coast Conference as top dog.
In 2024, FSU will play two of three ACC newcomers in the California Golden Bears (Sep. 21) and SMU Mustangs (Sep. 28). Outside of that, they will see a familiar schedule.
As alluded to, Uiagalelei has joined the 'Noles after a season in Corvallis. Lest we forget, the big-bodied quarterback originally started his collegiate career with the Clemson Tigers. Naturally, the Tigers have been Florida State's biggest conference rival in football -- the two universities have accounted for 12 of the past 13 ACC football titles.
For the new quarterback in Tallahassee, DJU will do well to get on the same page as fellow transfer Malik Benson. Coming over from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Benson averaged 12.5 yards per catch in 2023.
According to ESPN's latest SP+ rankings, the 'Noles ranked 12th in FBS. Additionally, that is higher than any other ACC program at the moment.
Outside of Clemson, the Seminoles will likely find themselves favored in the majority of contests across their 12-week regular-season schedule. Keep in mind, this is a program that has produced 23 total wins over the past two campaigns.
Simply, Coach Norvell has set a standard in Florida's capital that he intends on continuing. For what it's worth, the bunch from Tallahassee is a +270 favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook to win the upcoming ACC title game.
Why Florida State Could Win Under 9.5 Games (-110)
Norvell and his staff will bring continuity to FSU, but when it comes to on-field personnel, the Seminoles will have considerable roster turnover.
As the nation saw, Florida State did not look the same last year once they lost dual-threat quarterback Jordan Travis to injury. In a way, they lost their mental intimidation factor upon dropping the most recent Orange Bowl by 60 points versus the Georgia Bulldogs.
If the 'Noles are to fall short of 10 wins in 2024, that means they will have lost three or more regular season contests. When reflecting on the upcoming competition, who has a shot to take down FSU outside of Clemson?
Florida State will not leave Tallahassee until the final week of September, and transparently, I believe the Seminoles will be undefeated at this point. However, SMU will bring the energy on September 28th in Dallas. The Mustangs are currently a top-25 program on ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI).
For the sake of this piece, let us say that FSU stumbles at Southern Methodist. If the 'Noles also lose to Clemson, that puts over 9.5 bettors hopes here on life support. After the Tigers, Florida State has a Friday night date (Oct. 26) at the Duke Blue Devils. From there, the final five games of the regular season will give FSU a real test.
Other than a cakewalk versus Charleston Southern (FCS) in late November, the Seminoles close the year with lively matchups against the Miami (FL) Hurricanes, North Carolina Tar Heels, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Florida Gators. Seemingly, I find it tough to buy that Florida State won't lose at least one of those latter contests, so the 'Noles will need to stack the wins early and often in 2024.
