3 MLB FanDuel Value Plays for Tuesday 6/27/23
Finding low-salary production is one way to get a leg up on the competition in MLB DFS.
Here are three budget-friendly players to target on FanDuel for Tuesday's main slate. With every team in action, it should be a fun evening.

Sandy Alcantara, SP, Miami Marlins ($8,400)
After an a night off, the Miami Marlins will head north to take on the Boston Red Sox at historic Fenway Park. For the Fish, they will send last season's NL Cy Young winner -- Sandy Alcantara -- to toe the rubber.
Alcantara is having a rougher year in 2023, but he presents some value in this midweek tilt against the Bo-Sox.
numberFire projects Alcantara to produce 30.2 FanDuel points in Boston. Given his $8,400 DFS salary, Alcantara yields the fourth-highest point-per-dollar value (3.6) of any hurler on Tuesday's slate, per numberFire.
Alcantara's skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) is currently inflated at 4.38, which is way worse compared to his 2022 clip in that department (3.42), but he can still be effective from a DFS standpoint.
Right now, Alcantara is working with an efficient ground-ball rate of 49.1%, which should translate well against a Red Sox side that has already rolled into the seventh-most double plays (61).
Additionally, the Marlins have been playing fantastic baseball as a team. They are 7-3 in their past 10 games, and the offense should keep Alcantara in a reasonable position to earn a win.
Brandon Marsh, OF, Philadelphia Phillies ($2,700)
Over the past year and a half, Brandon Marsh has emerged as the everyday center-fielder for the Philadelphia Phillies. Having just defeated the New York Mets in two of three games wherein Marsh played quite well, the Phils will head to Wrigley Field for a series with the Chicago Cubs.
Marsh is expected to stay hot in Chi-town. Per numberFire's model, Marsh is predicted to contribute 10.9 FanDuel points. Considering his frugal salary, Marsh ranks as the eighth-best point-per-dollar outfielder.
In baseball, they say that "speed has no slump." Marsh can certainly run like the wind, but he is also seeing the ball quite well at the moment. In the previous series against the Metropolitans, Marsh collected five hits, two RBI, two doubles and two runs scored.
On Tuesday, Marsh will face Cubs right-handed starting pitcher Jameson Taillon (4.91 SIERA in 2023). Taillon will give up a platoon advantage to the left-handed swinging Marsh, who carries an .851 OPS versus righties in 2023.
Gleyber Torres, 2B, New York Yankees ($2,800)
Let us drop in some West Coast action: the New York Yankees are set for a night game against the Oakland Athletics at the Coliseum, and I believe Gleyber Torres can have a productive contest. Worth mentioning: both sides here are returning from a day off.
Paul Blackburn will start on the mound for the A's. He has been solid (1.48 ERA) in only 25.2 innings of work this season. Still, I like Gleyber, and numberFire does, too -- their model has the Yankees' middle infielder producing 12.6 FanDuel points on Tuesday. At $2,800, Torres is the second-best point-per-dollar option at second base, according to numberFire.
At the moment, Gleyber is striking out at the lowest rate of his career; only 13.4% of his 320 plate appearances this year have resulted in a punchout. Simply, Torres is putting the ball in play.
When hitting in the leadoff spot in this Yankee lineup, there is also quality potential for Torres to score a slew of runs. Sluggers like Harrison Bader, Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton will be behind Torres in hopes of driving him in. Notably, reigning American League MVP Aaron Judge is still out with a toe injury.
