2024 Mountain West Football Championship Game Winner Odds

Mountain West football has become increasingly competitive in recent years, showcasing four different winners in each of the past four seasons.

Headed for upcoming campaign, the Boise State Broncos are the reigning conference champions. For BSU, they've won four MWC football titles over the past 10 seasons.

At FanDuel Sportsbook, the Broncos are favorites to repeat as Mountain West champs. In 2024, the conference title game is scheduled for Friday, December 6th, hosted by the school with the best record in conference play.

With the regular season kicking off in approximately two months, let's check out FanDuel's college football conference championship odds and survey the most promising bets in the Mountain West.

Boise State (+135)

As alluded to, Boise State has built a brand of football excellence since joining the Mountain West in 2011. In that span, the Broncos have compiled a dominant 84-17 record in conference play.

Entering 2024, BSU will be in its first full campaign under Spencer Danielson. Danielson previously served as the Broncos' defensive coordinator until assuming the interim head coach role upon Andy Avalos' -- a Boise State alum -- firing last year. From there, Danielson guided a 5-5 team to the conference chip.

Going forward, there will be a new starting quarterback in Idaho's capital city. Taylen Green has transferred out to join the Arkansas Razorbacks. That lines up sophomore Malachi Nelson -- formerly of the USC Trojans -- to take the snaps for the Broncos.

With Nelson at the helm, the offense will look to reach last year's scoring clip of 32.1 PPG. Tailback Ashton Jeanty (2023 MWC Offensive POY) is returning to Boise State for his junior season. Jeanty was the team's leading rusher in 2023, churning out 1,347 yards (6.1 YPC). He found the end zone 19 total times, so I'd imagine he is the focal point in 2024.

Fresno State (+360)

A scrappy program from the heart of California's Central Valley, the Fresno State Bulldogs are in search of their third conference football title of the past seven years. With head coach Jeff Tedford back for another round, the Bulldogs should be legitimate contenders.

Since Coach Tedford's return to Fresno, the Bulldogs have gone 12-5 versus Mountain West opponents, which includes a 2022 title game victory over aforementioned Boise State. They come in at +360 odds to add their fourth MWC championship.

One of the conference's top returning quarterbacks, Mikey Keene was impressive in 2023. A year ago, Keene tossed the pigskin for 2,976 yards on a 67.1% competition percentage. He finished the season with a 52.2 QBR.

According to ESPN's post-spring SP+ rankings, Fresno State chimes in at 57th in FBS. Comparatively, the Bulldogs land second amongst Mountain West schools -- right where they sit in this market.

UNLV (+500)

The UNLV Rebels are coming off their best football campaign of the millennium. With that, head coach Barry Odom has increased expectations for his second season in Sin City.

After having two successful quarterbacks on the roster in 2023, there will be starting a new signal-caller in Vegas this season. Notably, Jayden Maiava -- the 2023 MWC Freshman of the Year -- transferred to USC while Doug Brumfield was forced to medically retire.

In all likelihood, Matthew Sluka will take majority of the Rebels' snaps in 2024. Sluka comes to Paradise after four years at Holy Cross (FCS). Most recently, the dual-threat quarterback was named Patriot League Offensive POY as well as an FCS All-American. Throughout his tenure, Sluka generated 97 all-purpose touchdowns for the Crusaders.

Sluka's first order of business should be building a rapport with UNLV senior wideout Ricky White III. Last year, White caught 88 passes for 1,483 yards and 8 scores. He offers a harmonic blend of speed, agility and ball skills.

A season ago, the Rebs played in their first ever MWC Championship Game. Despite falling short, UNLV now holds five-to-one odds to win the conference title on December 6th.
