Lamont Paris on Dalton Knecht: "He's a Highlight Reel Waiting to Happen."
To no one's surprise, Dalton Knecht is the focal point of South Carolina's scouting report when the Gamecocks play Tennessee later tonight in Knoxville, a game in which Tennessee is a 14.5-point favorite, per FanDuel Sportsbook's college basketball odds.
Speaking earlier this week on the College Hoops Today Podcast, South Carolina head coach Lamont Paris raved about the 6-foot-6 Knecht, who's averaging 32 points in his last five games.
"He's a highlight reel waiting to happen," Paris said of Knecht, who played last season at Northern Colorado. "It's not just dunks -- it's his ability to play basketball."
South Carolina was picked last in the SEC Preseason Poll but enters tonight's game at 17-3. They're 26th in this week's ROTHSTEIN 45 and are listed at +6000 to win the SEC's regular-season crown.
The Vols were ranked fifth in this week's ROTHSTEIN 45. At +115 odds, Tennessee is the current favorite to win the SEC's regular-season title, and they own the fifth-shortest odds to win it all (+1500), according to FanDuel Sportsbook's college basketball national championship odds.
