Verdict

POPPY'S GIRL (6) resumes from a spell and did win a recent Foxton trial earlier in the month. She is in foal, so her connections will be eager to win another race quickly. Hard to beat, especially with the aid of a good draw. TURN IT UP (8) was a game maiden winner fresh up over 6f at Trentham, and then battled on well enough for fifth there over 5f last time out nearly 5 weeks ago. The pole position can be an advantage here on a good track, and she will be among the top 4 placings in this. RIPPANALL (3) was put aside after winning as expected on debut at Waverly near the end of July. A better surface should not bother him, and he should be very competitive again. ST KILDA (7) raced handy to the pace on debut and was too tough when scoring by half a length a month ago at Pukekohe. She has the scope to take the next step immediately. RABEGA (1) set the pace and fought on well to hold onto fourth despite hanging out in the run to the line. He strips fitter and won't be far away.
