Follow your money. JULIANUS (2) got out late and flew home to finish runner-up by a nose at Waipukurau nearly a fortnight ago. He has a better draw this time and can get the job done here. CROIX DE GUERRE (1) finished sixth in the same race as the second pick last start, and will probably be ridden a touch more quietly here early on. He is certainly good enough to win a race like this. Stick with him. CARTER JOHN (3) made up a lot of late ground when finishing third fresh up at Waverley 15 days ago. He has been a late-maturing type, and he will pick up a win at short notice. ROCKA PHILLY (10) stuck to her task gamely in her first run over a mile at only her third career start at New Plymouth just over 3 weeks ago.
