Verdict

COSMIC PURSUIT (6) had plenty of trial practice before finishing on nicely for fourth when making his debut at Arawa Park in December. He is taking his time to mature, but his connections must have thought a lot of him to shell out 500K at the ready to run sales a couple of years ago. He should pick up a win at short notice. NICK TIME (2) failed to run on as expected when resuming at Tauranga a fortnight ago, and cops another tricky gate here. The extra furlong will help, and he is worth another chance at odds. COSTANZA (7) has had some gear changes since a modest effort fresh up at New Plymouth nearly 3 weeks ago. He is better than that and can make amends. Include in all top 4 combos. KUDOS (1) ran a much better race for second by a neck at Ruakaka a month ago. If he can repeat that effort, then he has each-way claims again. RUFUS (11) cops a wide gate, but will be peaking third up, and he can figure in the top 3 this time. ROB'S MISTAKE (12) has the blinkers on. Include.
