Verdict

MR ENERGIA (4) has been having no luck with his barrier draws lately but still managed to charge home late to finish runner-up here 3 weeks ago. The extra furlong should suit him and more importantly Zac Purton sticks with him. Hard to beat. SHAMUS STORM (6) worked very hard from a wide gate at his local debut here 3 weeks ago and kept up a strong gallop to finish second. He has a far better draw this time and can go one better. JOLLY RULER (2) has been thereabouts in stronger company lately and has won a trial since a last start sixth here just over a month ago. He is unbeaten at this easier level and a form reversal is on the card, especially with James McDonald stepping into the irons. NOBLE FANS (7) made up a lot of late ground at his first local start when finishing third. He will naturally improve second up and it won't be long before he posts his first win in Hong Kong.
