MAGIC LAW (1) could be close to a win after adding to a string of top-four finishes with another strong effort last time at Shepparton, finishing second and just 1.2 metres from the winner. No excuses from the ace draw so could break through. THE ITALIAN DREAM (6) didn't perform to market expectations last start but did some work. Came from a similar barrier to this for a good second at Shepparton the outing prior so is worth another chance. SPIRITED LASS (11) is in the mix following a fourth from a similar draw at her most recent appearance at Geelong. Last-start maiden winner SAMMY HALLER (9) might need a few good breaks to go his way from an awkward draw but he has some upside.
