JAMARNI (10) settled near the tail of a small field then quickened nicely to be beaten under a length when resuming over 6f at this track last start. Not the most reliable galloper but looks to be back in great shape and the extra 1f is to his advantage. ELIVINA (5) returned from a five-month spell with an eye-catching second in a similar race to this here on Melbourne Cup Day. Lightly raced mare who won second-up last prep at Newcastle so expect there is more to come. ENERGETIC LEGEND (3) was plain when resuming from a spell at this track and trip recently. Won here second-up two preps back and with blinkers on for the first time today might be able to find that sort of form. LONGINUS (6) led for the judge but was swamped late when resuming over 6f here last start. At his best over 7f so deserves another chance. MICRO MAGIC (11) finally won her maiden last start at this track and can go on with the job now. The chances don't end there.
