Verdict

WAR KING (1) is a lightly raced colt from the Ciaron Maher stable whose two efforts this time in work have been encouraging. Copped some early interference then came wide and made some inroads in the run home over 7f at Rosehill last start. Carries just 0.5kgs more in a weaker maiden today and will enjoy getting out to this trip. CONVERT (3) improved out of sight last time out when second-up from a spell, beaten just over a length over 7 ½f here after racing handy. Capable of winning if the Price stable can extract a little more from this sparingly raced three-year-old. LIKE ANYTHING (9) tired late to finish well back in third over this trip at Wyong recently. That followed a five-week let-up so there is plenty of improvement in store. FUNKY TILDA (6) returns from a six-month break. Didn't make an impact on debut at Canterbury, her only start to date. Worth another chance in a maiden with less depth. DASHING DOUBLE (4) should relish getting out to 1m for the first time.
