Verdict

The consistent SECOND SUN (1) made a move before the corner then went home well but found one a shade better in a BM62 over this distance at Doomben last start. Won at this stage last prep off similar lead-up form. Perfectly placed to double the win tally. PRINCE CARLOS (13) went back in grade and was beaten narrowly last time out over 7f at Tamworth. Looking for this trip now and although up in class does drop 4kgs on the last run. Right in contention. TRUE FAIRY (7) worked home just fairly for a midfield finish when fresh from a five-month spell over 7f at this track recently. Always improves second-up and the extra furlong is in her favour. Major contender. ROYAL RIFT (2) has been about the mark in staying contests of late. Has a win and a placing from three runs at the mile so cannot be ruled out. DESERT MIST (6) ran a better race last start and should be peaking at the fourth run in.

Second run back. First-up after five months 6th of 12 at this track Bm58 on November 6 over 7f, 3.5 len behind Intoxel with 130lbs at $7.50. Previously second-up 3rd of 13 at Lismore Mdn-Sw on December 22 over 7f, on a wet track, 1.75 len behind Torovista with 122lbs at $6. Plenty of improvement to come with that run under the belt.
