Verdict

NEIL (7) bumped into Matisse (4th in The Thousand Guineas last Saturday) on debut at Doomben back in June and was never in the hunt. Spelled immediately and has returned with a couple of impressive trials. Looks ready to make an immediate impact. CHURCH ROCK (6) returned from a 16-week break with a strong third last start over 5f at this track, making up plenty of late ground. Nicely placed over the extra trip and just needs luck from an awkward alley to figure in the outcome. LUCKY NEKO (13) has enjoyed a 38-day let-up since his tidy third when resuming over 5f at Murwillumbah. Lightly raced filly with plenty of improvement in store. SPOILER (14) has showed pace but tired at her last two, both over six furlongs. Might give some cheek coming back a shade in distance. BARRON (1) is next best with the aid of a nice draw.
