Verdict

CAPTAIN PLUTO (2) was far too good in the Luckygray Stakes last start, reeling in his rivals to win comfortably on the line as the fave. This shapes similarly, and the rise in trip won't be an issue. Will need some luck in the run, but expecting him to bring up back-to-back wins if he can improve on his latest effort. OPPORTUNISTIC (9) has been disappointing this campaign, though getting back onto the bigger track at Ascot and out in trip can see him recapture his best form. Not willing to go against him just yet. FILTHY HABITS (6) led the field up in the Luckgray and stuck on well enough first-up from a spell. Suspect he'll be better for that run there and he is likely to be up front once again from the draw. Will take plenty of catching if he gets it all his own way. MEMORY PARADE (8) closed off well over 1 ?m last start and rises to this trip for the first time. Won't be far away. BUCKETS RIDGE (1) can improve now out in trip and from a better gate.

Recent form sound. At the latest run favourite, ran on from midfield and won by 1.1 len at this track LR Luckygray November 8 over 1m defeating Memory Parade with 121lbs at $2.05. The run before that came home strongly from last on the turn, 3rd of 12 at Northam in the LR Northam Cup on October 26 over 1m, 1.2 len behind Red Sun Sensation carrying 123lbs at $3.50. Will get back again but can swoop around the outside as he did last time out.

Opportunistic silk

Last start raced on the speed throughout before fading 7th of 9 at York on November 9 over 1 ³/16m, 2.5 len behind Sowar carrying 132lbs at $2. Before that 6th of 11 at this track Rtg 72+ on October 25 over 7f, slow going 3 len behind Asphalt with 132lbs at $2.60. Is causing headaches for punters at the moment, though this looks a suitable set up for him today.
