Verdict

OUR PALADIN AL (10) jumped favourite first-up without a trial and flew late over this track and trip. The blinkers go back on today and he's sure to have come on for that effort. He showed plenty of class through his debut campaign and looks ready to take the next step this time in work. Plenty to like about him down in the weights. TRIO (1) comes back to 7f today and gets Pike in the saddle after a good win over the mile last time out. He hasn't won at this track and trip, but he has placed 2/4. Likely to be back in the run, but he'll be coming home with a wet sail. SILVER EYE (4) was 2L away in a BM78+ last start over this course and distance and that form stacks right up in this event. Fiore hops back on board this time and he's been knocking on the door. Can feature in the finish once again. LOMBADINA (9) fires well on the fresh side and can be in the finish here despite the drop in trip. WITHOUT REG (2) was too good last time out and can be in the finish once again.

Trio silk

Form hard to fault. Last start won by a neck at this track Rtg 70+ December 6 over 1m defeating Correct Choice with 131lbs at $4. The race before that came from midfield, 3rd of 12 at this track Rtg 72+ on November 22 over 7f, 1.2 len behind Noteworthy carrying 127lbs at $26. Back in trip, but reunites with Pike and rates highly off his last start win.
