Verdict

WUBIN GOLD (1) got a long way back and never featured first-up at this track and trip. Getting away from the inside is a big tick for her and she's unbeaten second-up in the past. Visors replace the blinkers today and Turner can work into the race on the turn before unleashing down the outside. THE CALABRESE (12) missed narrowly as favourite when back to 5f last start following a 1.8L when jumping the favourite in the Batavia Sprint. Back out to 6f now and he gets in light despite his recent form. He can sit much closer this time around and it wouldn't surprise to see him return to winning ways. SIX SHOOTER (6) will be fitter for the fresh effort and usually improves with racing. Chris Parnham hops back on board now and he's unbeaten when partnering. Can improve sharply. NOBELLITY (11) comes here without a trial but can be tough to catch from up front. TIMELESS GEM (8) was sound fresh here a week ago and is not to be discounted on the quick turnaround.
