Verdict

WANT A WINNER (2) strung together a strong campaign through the winter and looks a nice horse on the rise. His trial coming into this was very impressive and the booking of Pike shows he's ready to fire fresh. He strikes a very suitable race and he can keep his unbeaten first-up record intact. HAIDA GWAII (8) resumes here with three trials under her belt, winning her past two in good fashion at Lark Hill. Chris Parnham riding her over Want A Winner is a massive push for her chances and she can resume on a positive note. STREET BAND (5) comes here on the fresh side after stretching out to the mile through the winter months. His record at this track and trip is good and the claim of Cooper comes in handy. Can play a role. ATLANTIC SPIRIT (6) will find this easier than her latest effort in the Jungle Mist and is not to be discounted. BRAVE STRIKE (7) can improve on the quick turnaround and with a better gate today.
