Auston Matthews To Record 2+ Points (+138)/
Auston Matthews To Record 1+ Power-Play Points (+145)
The Toronto Maple Leafs have a very solid 3.51 implied goal total against the Los Angeles Kings, in what should be a very high-scoring game.
When it comes to offense, the Kings reign atop the league with 3.94 Goal Scored per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations. However, they can't say the same thing about their defense/goaltending, which is allowing 3.45 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the third-worst in the league.
The Kings are consistently getting into higher-scoring games and this opens up the possibility for plenty of value in the prop market. We'll turn to Auston Matthews for a pair of props tonight.
Matthews is the center on the top line and the first power-play for the Maple Leafs, allowing him to reach for his offensive ceiling every night.
So far this season, Matthews has 10 total points with 7 goals and 3 assists. Three of those goals and one of those assists have come on the power play. That is normal for Matthews, who has recorded double-digit goals and assists on the power play in three of the last four seasons.
Between his offensive role and the favorable matchup, Matthews is primed for a big night across the board.
Quinn Hughes Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-114)
Quinn Hughes is the newest captain of the Vancouver Canucks and he is off to a great start this year.
Hughes has 27 shots on goal through eight games or 3.3 shots per game, a high level of consistency. He's their number one defender and that has him over 24 minutes of ice time per game, which is in the top 15 of the league.
He's their anchor on defense along with seeing time on the first power-play unit, giving him extra chances to fire the puck.
They are up against the Nashville Predators, who have a 60.04 Corsi Against (Total Shot Attempts Allowed) per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is 16th in the league. The Predators are right at the league average and not a team we need to be shying away from.
Hughes and the Canucks have their offense firing on all cylinders, which should help drive the pace of the game, and give him chances to shoot the puck.
