Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Please note that betting lines and numberFire's projections may change throughout the day after this article is published. Also, the weather may be an issue in some locations.

Kyle Connor To Score a Goal (+125)

The Winnipeg Jets have a 3.19 implied goal total tonight against the Edmonton Oilers, a matchup where we should see plenty of scoring.

Even after a coaching change, the Oilers continue to struggle on defense and are allowing 3.42 goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the third-worst in the league over the last two weeks.

The Oilers are also in the top 10 of the league for the most penalty minutes this season, which should play right into the hands of Kyle Connor. He is on the first forward line and the first power-play unit for the Jets, which has led him to score 14 goals this season, the third-most in the NHL.

Despite having all those goals on the year, Connor has no goals over his last four games but does have a solid 15 shots on goal over that time.

He continues to fire the puck at a high volume, and with a soft defense in front of him, he has a good opportunity to find the back of the net.

Alex DeBrincat To Score a Goal (+140)

With a massive 3.74 implied goal total, the Detroit Red Wings have a prime chance to pour in the goals tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Wings are likely to be without their best player, Dylan Larkin, for the second straight game, which opens up some chances for Alex DeBrincat.

Over the last two weeks, the Blackhawks are in the bottom 10 in Goals Allowed (3.37), High-Danger Scoring Chances Allowed (13.67), and High-Danger Goals Allowed (1.78), all per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations.

They allow a ton of goals, and a lot of those goals come from the easiest scoring areas due to the high volume of chances they allow. That is a recipe for disaster, and it puts opposing teams in a great spot to rack up the goals.

With Larkin out of the lineup, DeBrincat should be the primary shooter on the first forward line and the first power-play unit. On the season, DeBrincat comes in with 12 goals in 21 games, and he has just a single goal over his last five games.

This is another player in a great matchup who continues to fire the puck at a high rate but simply hasn't scored recently.

Charlie Coyle Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+138)

The Boston Bruins are in desperate need of a bounceback game and have the perfect matchup against the worst team in the league, the San Jose Sharks.

Three straight losses for the Bruins is a bit shocking, as they had lost only four games this season before this stretch. It's what we saw from them last season, and now back at home with a 3.65 implied goal total, this is their "get right" spot.

This season, the Sharks are in the bottom three in Goals Allowed (3.29) and Shot Attempts Allowed (68.27), both per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations. When they are on the slate, you simply target players from the opposing team, and tonight, that is Charlie Coyle.

He is the center on the second forward line and the second power-play, which puts him in a consistent spot to hit over 2.5 shots on goal. Speaking of shots on goal, Coyle has hit the over on this mark in four straight games.

Considering the Bruins are on this three-game losing streak, I'm expecting them to keep their foot on the gas tonight and shoot the puck early and often.
